ARC/ALC Approval Process

Please note that we are only able to distribute a limited number of ARCs/ALCs for each title, so unfortunately we cannot approve every applicant.

Before applying, please make sure you are caught up on reviews for any previous ARCs/ALCs you’ve received from us and that you complete the entire signup form.

Please include direct links to your social media platforms where you regularly post reviews.

All accounts must be public to be considered, and your links should be active and up to date.

If you’re already on our Master List and need to update your links, please email us at hello@valentinepr.net.

When reviewing applications, we look for reviewers and influencers with strong engagement, consistent book-related content, and an active, dedicated audience. We also prioritize thoughtful, spoiler-free reviews rather than ratings alone.

Additionally, many of our authors prefer not to have AI-generated imagery or artwork used in promotional content related to their books. Because we respect those preferences, accounts that regularly feature AI-generated imagery on their social media will not be approved for certain ARC/ALC opportunities.

All ARC/ALC signups are for digital copies only. If approved, your ARC will be delivered through BookFunnel (or NetGalley, if specified on the signup).

Signups close three weeks before the release date, and ARCs/ALCs are typically distributed two weeks prior to release, unless otherwise noted by the author.

Once we’ve reviewed your application, you’ll receive an email letting you know whether your request has been approved.

The Master List is used for all Grey’s Promotions, Valentine PR, and Audiobook/Blush signups.

How can I sign up for the influencer list?

You can do so by filling out the “Master List Sign Up” form above. You can also access the form by clicking here: Master List Sign Up

Can you tell me how to find my review links?

For information on how to find your review links, please click here: https://bit.ly/3yzJoGx

This is my first time receiving an ARC/ALC from VPR. What do I do now?

Once the sign up is closed, you will receive an email stating whether or not you'll be receiving an ARC/ALC. You’ll receive the ARC/ALC by the date listed in the email. You can post your review to Goodreads and your social media when you are done reading however, please DO NOT post any spoilers. Please make sure to post your review to retailers ON release day. Links are due to our review form one week after the release.

I recently signed up for the Influencer Master List, was my application accepted?

When you sign up for our Influencer Master List, you are added to our database of Influencers. If you selected to receive newsletters, you will start to receive them immediately. You will need to sign up for ARCs/ALCs individually and you can refer to our open signups as well as our ARC/ALC Approval Process at the top of this page.

Are the ARCs physical copies?

No, all signups are for digital copies sent via BookFunnel unless specified otherwise on the signup.

I signed up for the cover reveal, where is my ARC/ALC?

Please be aware that by signing up for a Cover Reveal, Release Blitz or Release Boost does not guarantee that you will receive an ARC/ALC.

When do sign ups close? How will I know if I’m approved for an ARC/ALC?

Signups are closed out 3 weeks prior to the release date unless the author decides to close it early. Once our signup has been vetted by our team, we will send you an email whether or not you will be receiving an ARC/ALC. Please note: The person who signs up and is approved is the ONLY one authorized to receive the ARC/ALC. If you are part of a multi-person blog and the ARC is shared, your entire group will be banned.

I’ve received the last few ARCs/ALCs from my favorite author, why wasn’t I approved this time?

With each release, we try to reach as many new Influencers as we possibly can and sometimes that means not everyone can receive an ARC/ALC. We apologize but also ask that you do not reach out to the author for an ARC/ALC.

You say ARCs/ALCs are limited but are they really?

Yes, they truly are limited. We work with the authors throughout the process to determine what would be the best number of ARCs/ALCs to send out to help the author generate a buzz about their new release!

Are you still sending ARCs direct to Kindle?

No, we are now using BookFunnel to distribute ARCs! This allows us to send everything at one time.

As a precautionary measure to protect out Authors, you will see that your ARC is watermarked. This ensures that the unauthorized copying or distribution of the ARC can be traced back to its original recipients, discouraging any potential misuse of material.

I’m not seeing the email from BookFunnel. What should I do now?

Please check your spam folder for an email from BookFunnel and if you do not see it, please reach out to hello@valentinepr.net Please make sure that you download the book within the time frame listed on the BookFunnel email as well as the follow up email sent from VPR.

How do I get PR Packages/physical copies?

Joining our Influencer Master List is required to be considered for physical books and PR packages, but it does not guarantee you will receive them. Physical copies are limited, so we carefully match books to creators based on genre, engagement, consistency, authentic bookish content, thoughtful reviews, and by verifying that content is not AI generated. We welcome influencers of all sizes. To be eligible, you must be 18 or older, be on our Influencer Master List, have at least one public social media account with book related content, a U.S. mailing address, and a public Goodreads account so we can view your ratings and reviews.

The ARC was sent out just days before release and I can’t review in that time frame. Can I have more time to review?

Yes, if the ARC/ALC is sent less than 7 days from the release date you will be given more time to review. More information will be provided in the email that is sent to you once the ARC/ALC is distributed.

I didn’t get picked for an ARC/ALC, why am I receiving a release packet?

When you sign up for an ARC/ALC, you are also signing up to help promote the author’s new release. It is entirely up to you whether or not you want to post for the author on their release day. If you do get the release packet and choose not to post because you didn’t get the ARC/ALC, just delete the email.

Please do not email us to let us know that you will not be posting.

I can’t find the review form, where is it?

The link can be found in your email confirmation that the ARC/ALC was sent to you as well as the release reminder email that is sent to you on release day. You can also access it here: ARC Submission

I went to sign up for an ARC/ALC and it says it’s closed. Can you add me to this list?

Unfortunately, no. Once the signup is closed, we cannot add any additional names to that list.

I can’t review on Amazon, what do you want me to do?

If you can’t review on Amazon we ask that you please post your review to Goodreads and BookBub. However, please keep in mind that some authors require posting on Amazon to be eligible for their ARCs.

Can I post my review to my social media?

Yes, once you finish reading you can post your review to your social media but it must be SPOILER FREE. If VPR or the author feels that the review is giving away too much of the story, we may reach out to you to revise your review.

How do you pick Influencers for ARCs/ALCs?

Every ARC/ALC sign up is different. The number of review copies available depends entirely on the author and title. Some campaigns have plenty of ARCs/ALCs, while others are very limited. When reviewing applications, we look at several factors, including previous reviews, social media engagement, posting consistency, thoughtful spoiler free reviews, and whether content appears to be authentically created rather than AI generated. We also consider whether applicants are current on reviews for past ARCs/ALCs received from us. Many applicants meet these criteria, so when demand exceeds the number of available ARCs/ALCs, final selections are often made at random. We wish we could approve everyone, but unfortunately that's not always possible.

I’m going to rate the book under 3 stars, when do you want me to post?

If your review lands around 3 stars or below, we totally understand - everyone connects with stories differently. We just ask that you’re thoughtful with timing and tags. For anything 2 stars or under, we kindly ask that you don’t tag the author in your social media posts. If you decide to DNF the book, just let us know via the review form.

I didn’t get any of the packets, who do I contact for that?

If you didn’t receive the packet(s) we send out, please email: hello@valentinepr.net

It’s one week after the release and I don’t have my Amazon approval yet. What do you want me to do?

Send us what you have & submit a new form when you have Amazon links.

I didn’t like the book, why do I still need to submit a review form?

We need to account for each ARC/ALC that was sent out, whether or not that results in a review. If you don’t fill out the form, we will assume you didn’t read the book and it will hurt your chance with other ARC/ALC opportunities.

I’ve noticed you have NetGalley on your signups, why is that?

Yes, some ARCs are sent via a NetGalley widget from the author's publisher. You will need a NetGalley account to be eligible. We will not send ARCs any other way when a publisher is involved. If you don’t have a NetGalley account, you can sign up for a free account here – netgalley.com

I received an email that my review links were not submitted but I know I sent them in. Why does that happen?

Most times, the email was typed wrong or the names do not match. For example, if you signed up as Alex but then submitted the review as Alex’s Book Blog, it is not going to connect the two names. Please double check your email address before submitting the form and make sure the review form name is what you signed up as!

I need to update my mailing address, who do I contact for that?

Please email hello@valentinepr.net

Please note...

Valentine PR does not distribute ARCs/ALCs to published authors or those currently working on their first book. We believe strongly in author networking and the power of authors supporting authors. Thank you for understanding!
