Until Then

I never thought I’d find myself craving the small-town life, but I’ve grown to hate L.A. and all that comes with it. When I get canceled after a celebrity interview goes terribly, I put my life in the City of Angels on hold to move to Parkerville, Maine temporarily. With my sister and assistant living there it seems like the most logical place to go. Until my assistant offers for me to move in with her dad.

Her very hot, rugged dad.

That may or may not hate me after I tried to hook my sister up with him, but she ended up dating his son instead.

Oops.

It was an honest mistake.

I fully expect Derrick to tell me to find another place to bum it, but by some miracle he agrees to let me stay in one of the empty rooms, as long as I do my share, and help keep the place clean and make some meals.

Easy enough, right?

Except I can’t stop thinking about Derrick in ways a twenty-six-year-old woman definitely shouldn’t be about her forty-four-year-old pseudo-landlord. Who can blame me when he likes walking around the house shirtless and in gray sweatpants?

I’m convinced the feelings are all one way, until I accidentally hear him moaning my name.
